Early last year I decided to write a post about where I was going when I got to Europe, and the cliche touristy things I hoped to achieve. Now I’m going to fill in those activities with photographic evidence to prove that I actually did kick nearly all of my goals for my Europe Express tour with Topdeck!
DAY 1: SANTORINI
Ah Santorini. My expectations were set quite high. Although it was gorgeous in the town itself, the rest was basically deserted farmland with a donkey scattered here and there. BUT, I did adore every minute!
DAY 1: PAROS
We were all expecting the absolute worst for our ferry ride from Mykonos to Paros. Although it was just a 50 minute trip, it was delayed about 2 hours due to the choppy and windy conditions. By the time we arrived at Paros, it was about 3pm, meaning we’d lost most of our day waiting for the ferry.
DAY 1: MYKONOS
I can honestly say Mykonos is one of the most beautiful places I’ve gotten the chance to visit so far! Gorgeous blue water, white buildings and an endless stream of parties? What more could a girl ask for?
DAY 1: ATHENS
After spending a couple of restless and very sick nights at my first hotel, I finally emerged from my room feeling loads better. My chesty cough and runny nose are sticking with me but it’s much better than a fever!
My first big trip overseas… My first “overnight/twenty-four hour flight.” How did it go? To be straight up, it killed me. This is me writing to you in spirit from the lobby of my hotel in Athens.
So this is how it went down.
Talk about a whirlwind of a trip! Europe in the space of 11 days? Is it possible?
With just 42 days to go before I head to Europe for my holiday/gap year break, I thought it would be a good idea to share where I’m travelling, what I’m looking forward to, and what I’m dreading. Since It’s my first time overseas by myself, I feel as though I have the right to be terrified. Being a little scared and intimidated will make me travel more safe and ensure that I check and double-check everything, as every good traveller should. So, I’m going to post a timeline of where I’m going to keep the fam and friends updated.
Thankfully, I only had to work a beautiful four hours today, which gave me time to nap, endlessly scroll on my phone, start watching a new TV series Jane The Virgin (killer show by the way, I’m hooked already), and plan and post my first blog entry about my trip to Europe in August this year! Since going to Fiji in December, all I could think about was getting back on a plane and travelling somewhere new. Europe was the perfect choice because currently my best friend is living over there. No better excuse to go overseas, right?
