A half hour drive from Wollongong CBD lies Killalea State Park. Better known as “The Farm,” to locals. I had lots of people ask me “what is ‘The Farm”? and I honestly asked this question too when I first heard of it.
Just 35 minutes drive from the centre of Wollongong is a local treasure known as Coalcliff Beach and rock pools. Drive another 5 minutes up the road and you’ll find yourself at Stanwell Park Beach, and another couple of minutes drive will take you to Stanwell Tops’ Bald Hill Lookout, a massive tourist attraction in the Illawarra Region.
A short and scenic 45 minute drive from the centre of Wollongong lies Nellies Glen- a secluded little area in the Jamberoo precinct containing calming rapids, lush ferns, local fauna and a gorgeous waterfall.
